Camping in Windhoek

Fish River Canyon

You will find serviced sites at /Ai-/Ais and Hobas near Fish River Canyon. Alternatively you can go totally self-sufficient and sleep under the stars on the five-day trail offered in the depths of this chasm.

Sossusvlei

The Namib Naukluft National Park includes camping and self-catering accommodation within its boundaries along with a restaurant, bar and rock pools at Naukluft Camp. The luxury lodges dotted on the outskirts of the park offer a watered down version of the Sossusvlei experience with onsite restaurants, spas, guided outings and swimming pools.

Spitzkoppe

For a truly rustic adventure, pitch your tent at the foot of the Spitzkoppe. Here you will find incredible scenery, brilliant stargazing, awesome rock climbing and hiking, and not much else. Take all your own supplies, including water, for this rugged Namibian adventure at Spitzkoppe.

Swakopmund

This seaside city wouldn’t be the adventure capital of Namibia without good selection of campgrounds to choose from. Mile 4 Caravan Park, Alte Brücke Holiday Resort and Tiger Reef campsite are some of them.

Etosha National Park

Camping among the sounds and sights of nature at Etosha National Park is pure joy. This adventure is offered at Namutoni and Halali in established shaded campsites with electricity, communal fire pits and the use of all the camp facilities like restaurants, shops, floodlit waterholes and swimming pools.

Olifantsrus, in the secluded north-western reaches of the park, is reserved for campers only. Here you will find basic kitchen facilities, a kiosk and ablutions. At this camp you will find one of southern Africa’s best hides located just meters from a waterhole.

Onkoshi camp in the north-east of the park offers almost-camping, with thatched canvas-sided accommodation and a restaurant onsite.

Dolomite Camp provides a full on glamping experience complete with guided game drives, a rim-flow pool, excellent restaurant, lounge and curio shop.

Close to Etosha

Just outside Etosha National Park, Onguma Private Nature Reserve gives you camping away from the crowds as well as excellent ablutions, electric plug points and a restaurant on site. To the west, you will find Gondwana Etosha Safari Camp and Toshari Lodge.

Many of these camps offer the option for glamping and lodge accommodation too/ Perfect for those seeking a little more privacy and luxury within striking distance of Etosha.
