Duineveld waterhole in the western section of Etosha National Park

Meaning ‘field of dunes, Duineveld is located in a western Kalahari-type-sandveld environment.

About: Thanks to the open grassy plains surrounding Duineveld, it is an excellent area for spotting game such as Burchell’s Zebra, Springbok, Kudu, Wildebeest and Gemsbok.

The waterhole itself is located in an open area with a shallow basin close to the parking lot, allowing for unrestricted viewing. In the mornings you are facing into the sun from the parking lot, so photographers will have better success later in the day.
