Klein Namutoni

Klein Namutoni waterhole near Namutoni Restcamp during the dry season in Etosha National Park

This is Afrikaans for ‘small Namutoni’, referring to its smaller size when compared with the Namutoni waterhole.

About: During low-water periods the ‘eye’ of the spring can be seen in the middle of a raised mud bank. Surrounded by tamboti woodlands, the area is game rich and Damara dik-dik are often spotted at nearby Bloubok-draai. Between 1994 and 1995 this was the home of an albino impala male, but he has since moved on.

Water Source: Artesian spring forming a large vegetation free lake.

Water Availability: Year round
