Okerfontein waterhole near Namutoni Restcamp in Etosha National Park

“Okerfontein” is an Afrikaans name that means “ochre fountain”. It is probably named ‘ochre fountain’ due to the colour of the water.

About: Situated on the edge of the pan, Okerfontein is a good place from which to spot flamingos when the pan is full.

The only waterhole between Springbokfontein and Kalkheuwel and thus heavily utilised.
