Sonderkop waterhole in the western section of Etosha National Park

Sonderkop means simply ‘headless’ in Afrikaans, referring to the windmill which was often left ‘head-less’ after a whirlwind.

About: This productive waterhole is best visited in transit between Okaukuejo and Dolomite camps. It consists of a concrete basin, at a distance from the parking lot and is best suited to afternoon photography.
