Springbokfontein waterhole near Namutoni Restcamp in Etosha National Park

The name means “springbok fountain” in Afrikaans. Named after the large herds of springbok that often congregate here.

About: During the dry season, the water recedes and the game has to wade through thick mud to reach it, acquiring distinctive white underbellies in the process.

This area receives the first rainfalls of the year and is the first to turn green in summer.

Water Source: Two contact springs

Water Availability: Year round
