Tsumcor waterhole near Namutoni Restcamp during the dry season in Etosha National Park

Tsumcor waterhole is named after Tsumeb Corporation. The Tsumeb Corporation donated the original windmill for this borehole.

About: This waterhole is located in the sandveld habitat atop an ancient Kalahari sand dune, which is unable to retain water during the rainy season.

The borehole at Tsumcor was drilled to provide water to this area and attract game species here, and consists of a large trough supplied by a solar pump.

The woodland surrounding the waterhole has been slowly opened up by elephants browsing activities, making this waterhole a photographers dream.

Water Source:  Artificial water source – borehole

Water Availability:  Year round
