With the exception of territorial male wildebeest and springbok, the plains game participate in seasonal migration despite the parks fences. Every year, they assemble on the plains between Okaukuejo and Sprokieswoud at the onset of the rains to give birth and enjoy the new grazing.  Once these seasonal waters dry up, they make their way back to the Halali plains, Namutoni and Andoni, via the southern edge of the pan. All the plains game will trek for miles to make use of the waterholes, including springbok, which are not water dependent. As a result, they are found at all of the waterholes.
