Onkoshi Camp is the newest addition to the Etosha stable.

Here you will find luxury and exclusivity in a pristine and private setting. The camp is located on an isolated peninsula on the very edge of Etosha pan, offering unparalleled vistas of this enigma in all its glory. Stunning sunsets, blazing sunrises and nights filled with brilliant stars are par for the course at Onkoshi.

During the rainy season, guests can expect a bird’s eye view of flamboyant pink flamingos in their thousands and when the rains depart to leave Etosha barren, expert rangers will transport visitors to the secret oases where game may be found.

The camp is a low impact environmentally friendly development with just 15 units sleeping a maximum of 30 people. The camp is run almost entirely on solar power.

All the rooms are perched aloft on wooden decks, with thatched roofs, canvas walls and sliding doors opening up onto views of an African wonderland. Locally produced fittings and furnishings constructed of natural materials and metal are used throughout, complementing the natural abundance of the camps setting. All the rooms have two three-quarter beds except for the honeymoon suite which has a king-size bed. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in all the chalets.

The restaurant serves up delicious international and local cuisine and guests can escape from the glaring heat in a sparkling pool overlooking the shimmering salt pan. An enchanting curio shop offers gifts and local crafts and the on-site bar beckons come sun-downer time. The camp offers morning and afternoon game drives for those wishing to be transported on unforgettable photographic and game watching extravaganzas.

Onkoshi is located in the far north-eastern “no-man’s-land” of Etosha National park, totally separate from all tourist routes and other camps. Guests are chauffeured to Onkoshi in NWR vehicles departing from Namutoni Camp, which is accessible from Von Lindequist gate.
